Windy Day High Surf towards Lizard Point

OIL on hand built deep Canvas 80cm x 80cm inspired by a recent visit to Cornwall when it was so windy we couldn't stand up on the Lizard Point.  We went back to Porthleven which is renowned for its amazing waves in a high wind.  The waves were blown in by the wind and the surf was high.  I was inspired to create this painting of waves crashing in towards the beach just off the harbour at Porthleven, looking towards the Lizard.  This painting took many days as I worked carefully on the sky, the cliffs, the rocks in the foreground and the sea which was white with foam from the crashing waves.  I hope you like it!
